Prepare for your appointment.
Do not work out 48 hours before procedure.
Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Advil/Ibuprofen 48 hours before procedure.
No alcohol or caffeine 48 hours before procedure (this includes pre-workout, decaf coffee and tea).
No brow waxing, tinting, or threading one week prior (the more natural hair growth you have, the better).
Avoid sun and tanning on your face two weeks prior to procedure.
Avoid Fish Oil, Prenatal Vitamins, Nutritional Shakes (Shakeology, etc), "Hair, Skin, Nail" supplements two weeks prior to procedure.
Discontinue Retin-A, Chemical and Laser Peels, Microdermabrasions, Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), and any chemical exfoliant or "brightening" skincare at least six weeks prior.
Botox and filler on the forehead, temple, and eye area should be avoided two months prior to procedure for those who do not regularly receive injectables.
Please consider that those going through their menstrual cycle will be more sensitive.
Aftercare Instructions.
Printed instructions and healing balm will be provided.
Day 0
Four hours after the procedure, gently cleanser away the cream applied to the tattoo using gentle soap and distilled water. Lightly pat dry with a new cotton round or tissue. Apply a light layer of the healing balm (that is provided for you) using clean fingertips. Around this time, the cosmetic tattoo will appear darker, more solid and defined, and may look wet or painted on.
Day 1-7
Repeat this cleansing and application of the healing balm to the tattoo morning and night. Ensure to rinse off all the soap and the tattoo is dry before applying a light later of healing balm. Around this time it is normal to experience scabbing, flaking, dryness and itchiness of the area. Do not rub or scratch the tattoo.
Day 7-10
Regular face cleaning routine may resume. Apply a light layer of healing balm once a day. Around this time, the tattoo shape and color will change day-to-day. Around this time, the cosmetic tattoo shape and color will change day-to-day until fully healed. The full healing process will take up to 30 days.
TIPS
Do not drink alcohol, take medications or vitamins that may thin your blood for the next 24 hours, over apply healing balm or use petroleum-based products as healing balm, pick or itch scabs, actively participate playing with animals during healing process
Avoid heavy sweating, immersing the procedure area in water for at least a week - this includes long showers, swimming or saunas, direct sunlight and tanning for 2 weeks.
No facials, Botox, fillers, chemical treatments, or microdermabrasion for at least 4 weeks.
Use sun protection after the permanent makeup tattoo is healed.
Contact a physician if the following symptoms develop beyond normal healing conditions discussed with the artist: redness, swelling or tenderness of the procedure site, fever elevated body temperature, red streaks going from the procedure area towards the heart, and/or green-yellow discharge that is foul in order.
Protect your investment after you’ve healed.
Exposure to the sun and tanning beds will cause premature fading and discoloration of the pigment. Apply a physical sunscreen daily on brow area once completely healed (10 days). For further sun protection, wear hats, sunglasses, and stay in the shade.
Maintain removal of unwanted brow hair outside of your tattooed brow design by tweezing, threading, waxing, or razoring.
Lasers will alter the color of the pigment. 20% zinc oxide must covering your brow tattoo prior to any laser services.
Yearly touchups are recommended to maintain your results.
Certain skincare products and services will cause premature fading of your brow tattoo and may also alter the pigment color. Please apply a barrier layer of Vaseline over your brow tattoo before use of any of the following: glycolic acid, salicylic acid, alpha hydroxy acid, hydroquinone, retinol/Retin-a, vitamin c, peels, microdermabrasion, Obagi, or anything anything that brightens or treats hyperpigmentation.
Frequent chlorine swimmers, please apply a barrier layer of Vaseline over your tattoo prior to swimming, to prevent premature fading.
